A classic among fringed tulips — 'burgundy lace' describes it perfectly. Blooms open pink-red with a deep wine-red glow, slowly softening to pink, each petal edged with a fine crispa fringe. Long, faithful flowering in May on 50 cm stems. Lovely with white or red tulips and excellent in bouquets. Plant 12 cm deep in full sun.

Plant the bulbs in autumn (September–November) before the frost arrives. Set them pointy end up in well-drained soil — as a rule of thumb 2-3 times the bulb's height deep. Water after planting, then let nature do the rest. After flowering, let the foliage die down completely before removing it so the bulb can recharge for next year.
