'Van Eijk' is a favourite Darwin hybrid: huge deep pink-red blooms with a silvery sheen on tall, sturdy 50 cm stems. Planted 15 cm deep it behaves as a true perennial tulip, returning reliably from late April. Superb in large groups and as a cut flower. Full sun, well-drained soil, 12 cm apart. Pre-order for the August-September 2027 planting season.

Plant the bulbs in autumn (September–November) before the frost arrives. Set them pointy end up in well-drained soil — as a rule of thumb 2-3 times the bulb's height deep. Water after planting, then let nature do the rest. After flowering, let the foliage die down completely before removing it so the bulb can recharge for next year.
